The King SL is a long-awaited revelation on par with just about anything Puma has thought up. Weighing in at a paltry 7.7oz., the King SL should help make this line relevant again.
It's been a long time since we had reason to sing Puma's praises, not because they don't make a good product, just because they haven't pushed the envelope in a while. This shoe does that and more. Frankly, we're extremely pleased with the progress this shows in the brand's offering.
On to performance; many will say that lightweight doesn't really matter, and they're half right. One of the advantages to a lightweight shoe like this one is that they also tend to have very pliable uppers, and this boot is definitely no exception. The upper is so flexible that depending on how tight you like your fit, the lacing is sufficient to change the entire feel of the shoe. Lace it tight and the shoe will mold nicely to the shape of your foot. Lace it more loosely and the fit will maintain its already ideal shape.
The outsole isn't changed too too much, with the exception of being hollow instead of injection molded, like on the regular King Finale. Even more bold is the idea that Puma won't be selling regular Finale's for the second half of '12, only the SL's.
We love bold looks and style, we love innovation, and we love football. Puma does all three.
